4. INTERNAL REPAIR COMPONENTS (ROTARY GROUP)
If you are rebuilding an AP2D21, these are the critical sub-components:
Cylinder Block (Barrel): The rotating body that holds the pistons.

5. INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL
Case Priming: MANDATORY. Fill the pump housing with clean hydraulic oil through the top-most drain port before starting the engine. Running dry for even a minute will score the valve plates.
Filter Service: Replace the return filter and the pilot filter. Inspect the suction strainer in the tank for any metal particles.
System Flushing: If the old pump failed due to internal breakage, the entire system (including the oil cooler) must be flushed to prevent contaminating the new pump.
Hydraulic Oil: Use ISO VG 46 or 68 anti-wear hydraulic oil.
